Road To Adventure

Azure drapes the distant mesa
Timeless straw and coyote den
Red dirt road invites adventure
Breath of sage calls cattlemen.

Come and join me for a sojourn across the arroyos and mesas at the southern end of the Canadian River Plain. Behind me are Mesa Redonda and the northern Llano Estacado escarpment. The Kiowa and Apache of our region call the Canadian River goo-al-pah. The river originates in Colorado and flows some 900 miles through New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma before draining into the Arkansas River.
