Blood Moon

Train whistle drifts on gelid airs
Inspires hearts to quest dreams
Lone dog bays the blood Moon.

White Owl Woman's Last Hurrah

Overnight lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 80s have defined our spring weather. But, White Owl Woman with her indomitable disposition insists on one more winter's tale. With bated breath, weather seers whisper she will spread her wings of snow buoyed by gelid temperatures across the Llano Estacado Plain tomorrow. I have enjoyed the romance of her storied visits, but eagerly await her departure to summer haunts at her aerie of solitude in polar climes.

Spring Moon

Recumbent Moon rests
On gossamer clouds
Against starlit velvet.

Night wind whispers
Poetry of the universe.

Lend ear and heart.
