Despite the lack of rain, the grasslands brim with Winter hibernators. Cooper alerts and then spends several minutes satisfying his curiosity of a Horned Lizard stirring in the prairie straw. Harvester Ants nests are also open and as they scurry down well-worn ant highways hauling treasures they fall prey to ambush by hungry Horned Lizards.
