A monsoonal weather pattern has brought frequent rainfall to the Eastern New Mexico tablelands. The prairie and its denizens thrive once more. Great joy fills human hearts and inspires poetry.
Rain is the melody
Of waterfalls and rivers,
Forerunner of bounty
On parched prairie lands.
Rain is the sister
Of thunder and lightning,
Sculptor of canyons
On her journeys to the sea.
Rain is a dance
Of sunlight across water,
Passion of sunsets
On warm summer days.
Rain is God’s whisper
Borne by primal star dust,
Song of the universe
Cradled in sublime tears.

Ilija,
ReplyDeleteStumbled across your blog this morning. Hope you don't mind my comment. Just wanted to say I am impressed by the connection you seem to have with the natural world; your poetry reflects that and is enjoyable! Thanks. Hope to read more of your poetry.
Thank you, Eric
